Localisation is a key tool that all successful Multi-National Corporations (MNCs) use. Businesses that wish to enter multinational/ international markets (including those in Britain, China, Europe, USA etc), must carefully consider the value of implementing a localisation strategy. Do the rewards of a successful localisation strategy outweigh the risks and costs of an unsuccessful localisation strategy?
Your task: to be completed individually:
1) Decide and research on 2 contrasting companies that have use or are currently using a localisation strategy. What did they do? How did they do it? Why did they do it? What was the impact of the strategy on the business’s competitiveness and profitability?
2) Produce a 1500- 2500 word essay which answers the above title question, using the framework below:

1. Students must submit the first draft VIA TURNITIN to their teacher by 1st April 2015.

• You must reference all your quotes, using Harvard referencing and add a bibliography at the end of your essay.
• Any student who fails to submit a final piece of work by the second deadline will be given until the end of that day to submit, what is then submitted will be accepted as their final submission. The student will be placed in a suitable supervised study space to complete the work.
• No further chances to edit the work will be given and any sanctions resulting from identification of plagiarism in the work will be taken on the basis of this submission.
• All student coursework (first drafts and final submissions) will be tested for plagiarism using Turnitin software. Students will be issued with a copy of this report, after the draft is submitted by the Turnitin platform and will be allowed to make changes to properly reference sources in order to reduce the similarity index to below 10%. If the first draft of essay has a similarity index of over 10%, it will be returned back to the student, who is responsible for reducing it.
• If the final submission shows a similarity index of greater than 10% then the student’s mark for the piece of work will be proportionally reduced by the value of the similarity index.
• When the teacher believes that the student has not written the piece of work, even though a similarity index of less than 10% is shown by Turnitin, the piece of work will receive a mark of 0.
• Students who come back to re-sit subjects in Summer Term Two may make improvements to their coursework and then re-submit, for re-marking following the procedures set out above.
