INSTRUCTIONS
Due to the current recession there have been many fiscal policy’s enacted (or proposed) aimed at ending or minimizing the effects on Americans.  Find an article that describes at least one fiscal policy either enacted or proposed (if the article mentions more than one, choose one to focus your review on).
Caution: Some students may choose inappropriate examples for this assignment. Note that fiscal policies involve taxes and government spending.  (Special note:  If you choose taxes be clear on who is being taxed – consumers or suppliers and make sure your graph and analysis matches)
Article #2:
A.    Find an article in a recent newspaper or magazine that  describes at least one fiscal policy either enacted or proposed (if the article mentions more than one, choose one to focus your review on).   Briefly summarize the article (2-5 sentences).
B.    Identify and describe the type of fiscal policy be very precise in what it is.
C.    Explain how government action can/may improve the economic recession.
D.    Graph the government action using the aggregate supply and aggregate demand model and explain the current situation and then show how the government action will change the situation. (Should match your explanation above!)
E.    Turn in a copy of the article (or a link) along with your explanation. (Be sure to include the date and source of the article if not printed on the copy.)
F.    If you wish to do a summary on another topic please check with me for approval.
Below are the maximum points for each Item listed with is worth the following:
?    20 points for     A. a well stated summary.
?    20 points for     B. identifying and describing  the type of fiscal policy (expansionary                 or contractionary, and the what is the fiscal policy)
?    30 points for     C. Correct and complete economic analysis covering topics outlined                 above
?    20 points for     D. a properly drawn graph matching analysis stated C.
?    10 points for     E. the copy of the article, including source and date.
